Letters for Literacy
Increase your visibility from the recognition we will provide when you become part
of a community-based alliance that helps DuPage County residents become better
workers and better citizens.
Letters for Literacy is a fund-raising effort
that lets local employers and organizations help support adult tutoring instruction
designed to improve skills for employability, health and welfare, and overall independence.
Our current Letters for Literacy partners are listed here.
Consider this:
- 83% of Americans have a more positive image of companies who support a cause they care about.
- A study conducted by Leo Shapiro & Associates shows that, in DuPage County, literacy ranks very high
in importance and 70% of the 1,000 residents surveyed agreed it is important for immigrants to learn
English and that being unable to read and speak English is a growing problem.
- For every dollar spent by a literacy volunteer organization to tutor adults, $33 in economic benefit
is returned to the overall economy.
When you partner with us, you'll help us meet the growing demand for our services by:
- Increasing our recruitment efforts for volunteer tutors
- Expanding our program in underserved communities
- Building our capacity to support volunteer tutors and adult learners
