Let Us Design a Program Just for You

Literacy DuPage has over 35 years of experience providing customized literacy instruction. That means using real-life materials appropriate to everyday situations. Our instructors know how to create lessons that are of immediate use to your employees. We’ll develop a curriculum based on the communications needs in your industry, including the use of your company’s own terminology and documentation.

Here's how it works.

Step 1 Needs Assessment

  • We’ll determine the communications needs of your workplace through discussions with supervisors and managers. We’ll also ask you for examples of industry appropriate print materials and documentation.

  • Then we’ll assess the general skills levels of your employees and determine their communication goals.

Step 2 Curriculum Development

Based on the results of the needs assessment, we’ll develop a curriculum with competency objectives specific to your work-related communications. Your company’s terminology and documents can be the basis for each lesson.

Step 3 On-Site Classes

  • Classes will be provided at your workplace according to a schedule that works for you.

  • Classes are typically 1½ to 2 hours long, once or twice a week, for eight to twelve weeks.

  • Classes may be held during employees’ regular work schedule, or at another time that is more convenient for you and the employees.

Step 4 Evaluation and Reporting

At the conclusion of the course, employees will be assessed and evaluated on their progress toward competency objectives. We’ll provide you with a written report that will detail the tangible progress in your workers’ skills.
